Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Tomb

The tomb is located in the side chapel of the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception. The handicap ramp in front of the Cathedral leads you into the tomb. You will notice the "JMJ" on the railing. 

Regular Hours:

Monday-Friday: 12 pm - 2 pm
Saturday: 3 pm - 5 pm (9/20/25 Open 1pm to 5pm)
Sunday: 9 am - 12:30 pm

You may also visit during Masses and special events:
Sunday 9:30 am (English); Sunday 11:30 am (Spanish)
Monday-Friday: 7 am (English)

The Catholic faith first arrived in 1693 into what is now Peoria with the establishment of the Mission of the Immaculate Conception by Fr. Gravier. The cornerstone was laid in 1845 which became St. Mary’s parish in 1846. The cornerstone for the current Cathedral was laid in 1885. May 15, 1889 the Cathedral of St. Mary was solemnly dedicated.
